How it works

  • Select ‘Buy Now’ for the Standard or Premium service, ensuring you choose the appropriate year for the shelf company’s year of incorporation
  • We'll automatically email you the shelf company template, for you to complete with your chosen company name
  • We'll then make the relevant appointments and resignations (please note the name has not been reserved until the template has been returned to us)
  • We'll complete the J30 stock transfer form and, with the premium service only, we’ll also file a confirmation statement to notify Companies House of the new shareholding details.
  • With the Premium package, you will also be able to use our N1 address as your Registered Office and Director/s Service Address. Any mail from HMRC, Companies House and Government Gateway that we receive will be opened and securely scanned to you.

Shelf company FAQs

What will I receive?

With the Standard Shelf Company packages, you will receive:

  • Electronic copies of the Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum & Articles of Association.
  • Completed J30 stock transfer form and board meeting minutes.
  • Online admin portal to manage your company.

With the Premium Shelf Company packages, you will receive in addition to the above:

  • Registered Office and Service Address for your off the shelf company (renews at £59.99 plus VAT on an annual basis)
  • Confirmation Statement (to update the changes to shareholding at Companies House).

How does the service work?

Chosen off the shelf companies are designated on a first come first serve basis. So once you have decided on a company, we'll email you the Shelf Company / Ready Made Company template to complete and return with your chosen company name from the selected incorporation year. Please return the completed template as soon as possible to avoid someone else possibly choosing the same shelf company. As soon as our team receives your template, we'll make the necessary director appointments and send you the relevant company documents. The company is now yours.

The Premium Shelf packages also include the Registered Office, Service Address and Confirmation Statement services. Once the company has been transferred we will prepare the Confirmation Statement to update the new shareholder’s details online at Companies House. We will email you and request that you review the prepared Statement before filing.

Can I change the company name?

If you prefer to change the company name to one of your choice, you can do so by purchasing the Company Name Change Service here.

Can I get a bank account with the shelf company?

Yes. We have relationships in place with various banks including Barclays, Tide, TSB, Anna and Mettle. Get in touch if you would like us to refer you to any of these.

Is it safe to buy a shelf company?

Yes. When you buy a ready made company you are getting a dormant UK company with no trading history, so you can rest assured that the company is financially clean and there are no outstanding burdens.

Do I have to use my own address as the company’s Registered Office/Service Address?

No. If you buy our Premium off the shelf company package can use our address as your company’s Registered Office and Director Service Address (renewable on a yearly basis). By using our address you are protecting your own address from being the public register and searchable online.

HMRC, Companies House and Government Gateway mail received at our address as a result of us being your Registered Office/Service Address will be opened and securely scanned to you.

Who needs to provide Proof of ID and Proof of Address documentation to activate the Registered Office/Service Address?

The account holder and all company officers, including directors and people with significant control must provide Proof of ID and Address documentation. This is to ensure that we comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and ‘Know Your Customer’ requirements. We are unable to offer our company Registered Office and/or Service Address service until this information is provided.
